In dry weather and 17 degrees, on Friday 25.09.2020 at the Monza circuit in Italy, began the 1st free practice of MAXX Formula.
At the Autodromo Nationale di Monza circuit, the teams, drivers and riders had to show their skills as early as 9:50 a.m.
Already after a few minutes in the 1st free practice of the MAXX Formula, super lap times were achieved. A first impression of how fast you can go in Monza was shown by the Team Speed-Center and its riders:
- Matthias Lüthen –> 1.40.348 GP2 Advance Klasse
- Kurt Böhlen –> 1.43.083 GP2 Advance Klasse
- Christian Eicke –> 1.43.221 GP2 Advance Klasse
In the Masters class Michael Grosse Aschhoff drove his Reynard 95D F3000 in the early morning free practice of the MAXX Formula with a time of 1.46.116. Karl-Heinz Becker (veteran of motor sports, used to drive in the DTM in a privately used BMW) achieved a time of 1.48.726 with his Worldseries by Nissan AER 2.0 R4T.
Christopher Brenier ( Advance Class ) on his Panoz DP09B Superleague Formula complained about clutch problems during the training.
After his fire in the last race in Most/CZE, Wolfgang Jaksch, fast F1 driver in his Super Aguri SA06, brought his F1 back to the start. But he was only able to drive a few laps and unfortunately had to retire his Formula 1 car due to technical problems. Eliminate problems.
Veronika Jaksch participated in the 1st free practice of the MAXX Formula with a new GP2 car, but according to her own statement she has to get used to the new car first.
The Teams hope that it will remain dry in the afternoon in the 2nd free practice, but the rain probability is very high according to rain radar.
